ABOUT

Tiny Brawlers is a third-person shooter with a destructible environment. Fight back against the fiery demons invading your village, and use your surroundings to your advantage! Destroy or move objects around your village to aid you in defending against the demons who wish to destroy everything.

COMBAT & AI

  • Behavioral Tree​

    • Designed an AI behavioral tree with patrol, pursuit, attack, and death behaviors.​

    • The behavioral tree uses the distance from the player to dynamically move through the tree.

  • Navigational Mesh

    • Created a Unity Nav Mesh, effectively adapting the world terrain for AI navigation.​

  • Player Mechanics​

    • Designed a player controller featuring an animation blend tree to seamlessly combine animations.

    • The player is able to walk, sprint, jump, melee attack, and shoot projectiles.

  • Projectiles

    • Projectiles can inflict damage, destroy objects, and collide with each other to be utilized defensively.​

GAME DESIGN

  • Environment​

    • Developed a concept board of various villages and farms for reference.

    • Utilized free assets to construct the farming village.

    • Designed the terrain to incorporate mountains, concealing the village within.

  • Destructible Objects

    • Reworked the free assets to include destroyed versions that can be instantiated.

    • Assigned corresponding weights and health attributes to each object, increasing the realism.

  • Balancing

    • Recognizing the need for a greater challenge, I increased the enemy health as it was too easy to defeat them.​

    • Added more objects, offering players countless ways to exploit their surroundings for strategic advantage.
